I like Golden Delicious apples for this pie, but feel free to use any cooking apples you happen to have on hand. This pie is a great way to try new apples you get from the farm (sometimes good cooking apples aren't great for eating and vice versa).
Serve this pie warm (but let it cool at least 20 minutes before cutting), with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
