chocolate peppermint barkCooking up a special treat couldn't be easier than this chocolate peppermint bark recipe. With just three ingredients, this recipe takes virtually no time to make. The kids can help, too. They will enjoy breaking up the peppermint candies.

Chocolate and peppermint are a fantastic flavor combination for the holidays. This bark is one of my favorite holiday gifts to make for friends and family. For more homemade food gifts for Christmas, see also:

  • Homemade Marshmallows - These are big and impressive and fun to make. But the mixture is very hot. If the kids are helping you with this recipe, keep them away from the marshmallow mixture while it's hot.

  • Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies - They're a classic -- because everyone loves them. This recipe is one of my favorites.

  • Spiced Pecans - There is no need to buy fancy gourmet nuts when it is so easy to make them yourself. This recipe shows you how.
