macaroni and cheeseComfort food has different meanings for different people. To some folks, there is nothing more comforting that a heaping bowl of oatmeal (that would be me). To others, comfort food has to be rich and creamy, and only something like macaroni and cheese or mashed potatoes will do.

And still others need comfort food to be sweet, like rice pudding.
