Beef Brisket with Barbecue Sauce

Beef Brisket with BBQ Sauce

This beef brisket recipe has a smoky flavor that makes this brisket taste as if it has been barbecued on a grill. But this beef brisket is slow cooked in the oven. The BBQ flavor comes from barbecue sauce.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 4 hours

Total Time: 4 hours, 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1 3-4 lb. beef brisket, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees F.

  2. Spread sliced onions in a layer in the bottom of a 9 x 13" baking dish. Lay beef brisket on top of onions.

  3. Whisk together remaining ingredients. Pour over brisket. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Bake brisket 3-4-1/2 hours, basting every hour or so, until tender.

  4. Let brisket rest 10 minutes before cutting. Important! Cut brisket against the grain for a mellow, juicy brisket.
Makes 6-8 servings of beef brisket with barbecue sauce.
