Marinated Flank Steak Recipe

This flank steak recipe is tender and juicy, thanks to a soak in a pineapple juice, honey and soy sauce marinade. The marinated flank steak is then grilled to perfection. I serve this marinated flank steak with grilled vegetables and roasted potatoes.

Prep Time: 2 hours, 10 minutes

Cook Time: 12 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. freshly-ground black pepper
  • 1-1/2 lb. flank steak

Preparation:

  1. Whisk together pineapple juice, soy sauce, oil, brown sugar, garlic and pepper.

  2. Place flank steak in a zipper-sealled plastic bag or a glass baking dish. Pour marinade over flank steak. If using a plastic bag, seal and place in a long dish. If using a baking dish, cover with foil. Refrigerate 2-24 hours.

  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Remove flank steak from marinade. Discard marinade.

  4. Grill flank steak until medium rare, 6-7 minutes on each side.

  5. Let flank steak rest 10-15 minutes before cutting to allow juices to redistribute. Cut flank steak across the grain (otherwise the meat will be tough).
Makes 6-8 servings of flank steak.
