This collection of healthy smoothie recipes includes my top-rated and most-requested healthy fruit and vegetable smoothies. All of these smoothies are loaded with good-for-you vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber and protein. And they're all made with only natural ingredients, like frozen fruit, natural fruit juices, yogurt, soy milk and natural add-ins, like nuts, coconut and peanut butter.
The frozen fruit in these recipes gives these smoothies a wonderful icy, milkshake-like texture and flavor. But it can be difficult for some blenders to completely crush frozen fruit.

There are a few ways around this problem.
One, you can make these smoothie recipes in a food processor (compare prices). It's not a perfect solution - you may have to stop and scrape the fruit to the middle to finish making these smoothies, but it will crush the frozen fruit and won't require you to buy a special blender.
Another option is using fresh fruit and crushed ice. If you go this route, reduce the amount of liquid called for in the recipe by 2 Tbsp.
Finally, you can use a Blendtec or Vita-Mix Blender. I'm a big fan of these professional blenders, especially for making smoothies. They crush the fruit like a champ, and you will get that lovely, icy milkshake-like texture.
Unfortunately, these blenders are expensive, so you want to make sure you'll be making a lot of smoothies (or a lot of salsas and pureed soups) before investing in one of them. I love mine, but I make smoothie recipes almost every day.
