Oatmeal with Cinnamon Chips

Oatmeal Recipe

This oatmeal recipe gets color, texture and sweetness from cinnamon chips and sliced bananas. Serve with a strawberry banana smoothie for a healthy complete breakfast that tastes like dessert!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 3 servings

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/8 tsp. kosher salt
  • 2 cups quick or old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 1 large banana, sliced
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon chips

Preparation:

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring milk and salt to a gentle boil over medium heat.

  2. Stir in oatmeal. Cook 1 minute for quick-cooking oatmeal, 5 minutes for old-fashioned oatmeal, until oatmeal absorbs most of the milk.

  3. Remove from heat. Spoon into 3 bowls. Top each bowl with some sliced bananas and cinnamon chips.
