Recipe for Double Chocolate Brownies
These chocolate brownies are thick, rich and fudgy. These brownies get an extra layer of chocolate flavor from the addition of chocolate chips. I like dark chocolate chips, but kids seem to prefer semisweet chocolate chips. If you like nuts, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts to make this the a truly loaded recipe for chocolate brownies.Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 6 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1-1/4 cups cake flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 13 pan.
- Melt butter and chocolate in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.
- In a large bowl. Beat sugar, eggs and vanilla together. Stir in the butter-chocolate mixture until well-incorporated. Mix in the flour mixture.
- Pour into prepared pan. Bake 28-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the brownies comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
- Remove brownies from oven, and let cool 1-2 hours before cutting.
