Toasted Marshmallow Cake Recipe
Any time I can doctor a cake mix and make it taste like homemade, I'm all for it. This toasted marshmallow cake is one of those doctored cake mix recipes. Easy to make, it smells and tastes like s'mores. Kids love this toasted marshmallow cake.Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 devil's food cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare cake
- 12 large marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup firmly-packed light brown sugar
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour into prepared baking dish.
- Cut marshmallows in half. Place marshmallows over cake batter, cut side down.
- Sprinkle walnuts and brown sugar over marshmallows.
- Bake on the center rack of the oven for 40-45 minutes until a knife inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
*Note: If marshmallows brown too quickly, cover cake with aluminum foil to finish baking.
