Everyone knows the best part about making a gingerbread house is the decorating.

That's why I like to start with a pre-assembled gingerbread house kit.

A pre-assembled kit is one where the house is already put together. This is different from a pre-baked kit, which typically includes gingerbread pieces that you stick together with icing. (The icing is usually included in the kit.)

Wilton makes a pre-assembled gingerbread house kit that's available at places like Linens 'n Things, Bed Bath and Beyond and Michaels. Gifts for All Holidays.com also makes a pre-assembled gingerbread house kit, which is slightly bigger.
