Now it's time to make the royal icing. Royal icing is used to decorate gingerbread houses because it makes a cement-like icing that hardens pretty quickly.

Follow the directions in the kit to make the icing. To make it easier to get the icing into the bag, hold the bag by the tip in one hand. Now cuff the wide part of the bag over your hand. Then scoop the icing in.

Don't put all of the icing in at once. Use a twist tie to seal the wide end of the decorating bag, so the icing doesn't accidentally come out.
