Add Vanilla Wafers to the Base

If you want to decorate the base, get your cardboard cake board, and cover it with aluminum foil. Place the gingerbread house (including its small cardboard base) on top of this larger base.

Use the royal icing to glue three vanilla wafers to each side of the gingerbread house.

Drizzle icing over top of the wafers and in front of the house. Sprinkle the flaked coconut over top to make it look like snow.
