Peanut Butter Cookies with Chocolate Drizzle

A drizzle of melted chocolate takes these classic peanut butter cookies to a whole new level. If you want even more peanutty flavor, try topping these peanut butter cookies with chopped peanuts.

Yield: 24 cookies


  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly-packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips


  1. Cream peanut butter, butter and sugars together with an electric mixer until fluffy.

  2. Beat in egg and vanilla.

  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to peanut butter mixture until well-incorporated.

  4. Refrigerate 1-3 hours.

  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  6. Form dough into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with a fork, making a criss-cross pattern. Bake 10-12 minutes.

  7. Cool on wire racks.

  8. When cookies are completely cooled, place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe container. Heat on 50% power for 1 minute. Stir, and repeat until completely melted. Drizzle melted chocolate over cooled cookies.
