Snickerdoodles Recipe

These snickerdoodles make a wonderful dessert, afternoon snack or bake sale treat. Soft and chewy, these snickerdoodles are as easy to make as they are tasty to eat!

Ingredients:

  • 1-2/3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened to room temperature
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • .
  • For Topping
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

  3. With an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar together until creamy.

  4. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.

  5. On low speed, beat in flour mixture until incorporated, but do not overmix.

  6. Chill dough in refrigerator 1 hour.

  7. Shape dough into tablespoon-sized balls. Mix together sugar and cinnamon and place in a shallow dish. Roll dough balls into cinnamon-sugar mixture.

  8. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-12 minutes until light golden on the bottom. Cool on cookie sheets.
