Chocolate Banana Cake Recipe
This chocolate banana cake is more of a chocolate pound cake than a banana cake. The banana flavor is subtle. But the bananas also lend moisture to this cake mix recipe. Of all the cake mix recipes I make (and I make many), this one, by far, is the one I get the most requests for.Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 devil's food cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or cinnamon chips
- powdered sugar for dusting
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Spray a tube pan or bundt pan with cooking spray.
- With an electric mixer, beat the cake mix, eggs, buttermilk and toil together until smooth.
- Beat in the mashed bananas until well-incorporated.
- Stir in the chips.
- Bake 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few crumbs attached.
- Turn out of pan and dust with powdered sugar.
