Chocolate Tres Leches Cake Recipe
If you love the taste of regular tres leches cake, you will enjoy this chocolate tres leches cake recipe. Moist and delicious, this is the perfect special occasion cake. Plus, it's super easy too.Ingredients:
- 1 18.25 oz. box chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1-1/4 cups water
- 2 Tbsp. canola oil
- 1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 12 oz. can evaporated milk (skim is okay)
- 1 cup whole milk or light cream
- 2 pints strawberries, washed, hulled and sliced
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, beat the cake mix, eggs, water and oil with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Pour into prepared pan. Bake 33 to 38 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove cake from oven and let cool 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, stir together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and whole milk or light cream until well blended.
- Poke cake all over with a straw or wooden skewer.
- Pour milk mixture all over cake, pressing lightly to make sure milk is completely absorbed.
- Refrigerate cake 1-2 hours.
- Cut cake into slices. Top with sliced strawberries.
