Cream cheese frosting makes the perfect topping for everything from carrot cakes to red velvet cake. And homemade cream cheese frosting tastes so much better than store-bought frosting. The best part is it's incredibly easy to learn how to make cream cheese frosting.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-4 Tbsp. milk

Preparation:

  1. With an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and butter together until fluffy.

  2. Beat in sugar and vanilla until smooth.

  3. Beat in milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the cream cheese frosting reaches the desired consistency.
