Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Many healthy chocolate chip cookies aren't really as healthy as they seem. They may have less fat, but they often have more sugar. This chocolate chip cookie recipe is different. It is full of heart-healthy oats, bran flakes and nuts. It has just the right amount of texture and crunch combined with a soft cookie base.

We love these cookies! My kids eat them up completely... my only changes are as follows: -use rolled oats (not instant) -in place of cereal I use a combination of flax meal, oat bran, and wheat germ -1.5/2 tsp of vanilla (makes up for less sugar) -1 tsp of baking powder -use dark chocolate chips -1 tsp salt - 1/2 c BUTTER - unbleached white flour (may try to incorporate some wheat flour next time.) - 1/4 c almond meal (Bob's Red Mill or just put raw almonds in your food processor) - 1/2 unsweetened coconut (Bob's Red Mill is what I use) NOTE: I blend all dry ingredients together in the food processor for about 5 minutes so that they are all smooth like flour. Though these are not low cal or low fat, they are a very healthy option for regular chocolate chip cookies and have become a standard in our house. I probably will never go back to making my old recipe =) Thanks so much for the add!
