Flank steak can be a tough cut of meat. With this Crockpot flank steak recipe, the flank steak is seared first, then slow cooked in a flavorful marinade. The result is a tender steak with a crust and a juicy interior.
Serve this flank steak with scalloped potatoes and grilled vegetables.
Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1-1/2 lb. flank steak
- kosher salt and freshly-ground black pepper
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2/3 cup pineapple juice
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. sweet red chili sauce
- 1 Tbsp. honey
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
Preparation:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add flank steak. Sear until browned on both sides.
- Place sliced onion in the bottom of the Crockpot. Lay steak on top of the onions.
- Whisk together the remaining ingredients. Pour over the flank steak. Cook on low 8 hours or high 3-4 hours.
