What is the focus of your food blog?
All desserts, all the time! I mostly feature delicious dessert recipes I make at home, but I occasionally share amazing cakes or other projects I work on as part of my job as a pastry chef.
Why did you start your food blog?
I loved reading everyone else's food blogs, and found myself surfing the web for hours, collecting recipes and drooling over pictures. I loved to bake at home and wanted to share my creations with more than just my small household.
Having a dessert food blog has been an awesome experience. I've made things I would never have tried before, I've found lots of likeminded blogging friends, and I've grown as a baker and a food photographer. The only downside is eating all of my creations!
Advice
- Although this isn't related to my blog, I've found that PLANNING is the best way to tackle meals. I make a meal plan for the week, then make sure I buy all the ingredients at the store. Having a stocked pantry and a plan eliminates all of the last-minute "I'm stressed and starving, what should I make?" anxiety. I also keep a package of veggie burgers in the freezer, and when I'm too tired to cook a real meal, it's veggie burgers over a salad, or a quick omelette. Fast and tasty!
